Join White Bluff artist Jeremy Sheehan as he talks about one of his long running sculpture projects - Transmigration. Transmigration consists of 22 bird sculptures made from a skeleton of collected ocean plastic, overlaid with materials that slowly break down. These sculptures were sent to individual islands in the Pacific where artists and communities made similar birds that were sent back to Australia and appeared in the Bondi Sculpture by the Sea.
"A friend once introduced me as an artist, educator and environmental activist. I had never thought of myself from that perspective before, it felt a bit uncomfortable, but I kind of like it now." Join Jeremy Sheehan on Saturday 25 January at the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery as he discusses how his extraordinary bird sculptures, on show at the Gallery, returned home from a long and incredible journey.
