A new date has been set by Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery for The White Bluff Project Exhibition. Back in March, a burst water pipe in the Rigby House building (home of the gallery) forced the temporary closure of the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery. Now the damage has been repaired and the countdown is on. The gallery will reopen on 12 June and the White Bluff Project Exhibition will now be held from 30 October 2021 to 15 January 2022.
This is not the first delay for the White Bluff Exhibition, with Covid forcing gallery closures and date changes in 2020, but the team have remained dedicated to the project and seeing it to fruition.
The White Bluff Project is now rescheduled to be a home-grown summer blockbuster exhibition, from 30 October 21 to January 15 2022. Gallery Curator, Chloe Waters said the highly anticipated project has been years in the making and is not to be missed.
“What an absolutely fitting close for our anniversary year: showcasing a unique, artist led project, born right here in Coffs Harbour that resonates far further abroad.
“We look forward to bringing the culmination of this project alive in the Gallery for the community and collaborators to experience and celebrate together.”
The White Bluff artists had all artworks ready to go for the original opening date of 20 March but these are now safely in storage until the final exhibition with some team members taking the opportunity to fine tune their pieces - and why not when an art work is called “Mutation and Metamorphosis.”
The exhibition will also close out the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery’s 20 year anniversary.
