“White Bluff is the meeting place, the inspiration at the heart of this project — a physical location to start a collaborative journey. The different journeys that inspiration takes each artist on, will be as interesting as the final works that appear when the journey ends,” says Megan George, producer and film maker.
Her vision is to document this journey.
Megan has produced award winning short films as well as the 2012 feature, ‘Thirst’, by Robert Carter and In 2013, was selected for the NSW Mentoring Regional Screen Practitioners program. In 2014, she was Production Coordinator on ‘BLUE ZOO’, a TV Series for ABC (Australia) and TRTÉ (Ireland) and from 2011 to 2015, Megan was the Technical Producer for the Short Sharp International Film Festival.
She is now a member of the White Bluff Project and tasked with the role of creating an ‘inside the artist’s head’ experience of the Project.
“Interviews with artists and footage of White Bluff will provide the framework for expressing the varying points of view and the varying journeys of participating artists and scientists; with insights on the entire process and inspiration found from White Bluff.
“A final runtime edit may be around 10 -12 mins. The final product, film-wise, will be documentary in style, to be shown with the final exhibition and viewed online.”
Megan, with her partner Mark George, is Co-Director of DesignWave Pty Ltd, a boutique multi-platform production company whose slate includes project titles for film, TV, VR, AR and mixed reality.
“The White Bluff project is a unique concept bringing together an active group of local artists who might know one another but have never worked with each other.” Megan explains. “Each of the artists involved is significantly gifted and skilled with their chosen media. During the interview process for the film I have been lucky enough to see the works in progress. Some are individual inspirations but most have been created by working together, mixing media, talents and ideas. All I can say is, there is a lot to look forward to for everyone.”
